Continuing Care Home
Type B – Alberta
What is Continuing Care Home Type B in Alberta ?
Formerly known as Designated Supportive Living, Continuing Care Home Type B provides funded assistance to those who qualify through Alberta Health Services and require assistance with daily tasks but do not require the skilled care provided at a long-term care residence. It allows you to enjoy privacy and independence while knowing your health and personal care supports are onsite when needed. All our residences include licensed supportive living accommodations.
Benefits
Continuing Home Care Type B services are provided by Alberta Health Services and are available once you or your loved one have contacted and been assessed by a Case Manager.
Accommodation, meals, housekeeping, linen, and recreational services are provided. According to the plan of care, a higher level of personal care support is provided for scheduled and unscheduled care needs. A healthcare aide provides health care services on an unscheduled basis. Depending on the individual’s needs, scheduled professional care (nursing, rehabilitation therapy, etc.) will be coordinated by a Case Manager and performed by a Licensed Practical Nurse or a Health Care Aide.
